My pet

    I would like to write about my sweet dog! His name is Lance, named by my brother. He is a kind of Welsh corgi, so he has short legs, big ear, and long torsoed.
    He gives positive effect on me, and my family. When I'm sitting in the living room and watching TV, he comes close to me, and if I touch him, he looks so happy. Skin ship with him refreshes me. Also, my father is the best lover of my dog in my family. My father walks with my dog twice in a day. When he takes care of my dog, he looks so happy. Lance keeps my father's health. Surprisingly, he also can stop quarrel between my mother and father. When my father and mother start quarrel, he goes to the place, the middle of my mother and father, and he becomes very anxious face. Also, sometimes he comes to my room to ask me to stop their quarrel. I think he is intelligent as much as three years old child!! He is a member of my family as a second son, and essential for us to keep my family's tie.  

Who am I? How would I answer this question?

My name is Mio Uemura. I was born in 1991, and now I'm 20 years old. Now, I live in Saitama with my family. My hobby is watching foreign TV drama, listening to the music, and traveling. My favorite foreign TV drama are Gray's anatomy and Gossip girl. I often watch these drama on the weekend. My favorite musicians are Masaharu Hukuyama and Aiko. It takes two hours to get ICU, so I listen to these music every morning. Music gives me power to survive in the crowded Yamanote line in the morning! Also, I have traveled France, Holland, England, and Australia. Travel is essential for my life, because experience of the travel motivated me to study English hard, and leads me to enter ICU. In ICU, I'm thinking about choosing sociology as a major. It was interesting for me to view society as a structure.

My memory of the trip.

I would like to write about my memory of the trip to Cairns in last summer vacation. I went to Cairns in Australia for two weeks, and did conservation volunteer work. As the volunteer work, I did weeding and planting trees with the members from various countries. This experience was awesome! I enjoyed dynamic nature, and the life with other members was fun. I enjoyed talking with people from other country, and also we cooked every dinner together! This experience changed my view of the volunteer work. It gave me the chance to meet foreign people, and making friendship with them, Also, volunteer work gave me the chance to communicate with local people. It was more exciting than sightseeing! I want to go other country to do such great experience again.  

Do I like to write? Why or why not?

I don't like writing. If I write academic writing, like popular assignment style in writing, I have to follow many rules. It is so messy process. Also, academic writing process is not good for my mental condition, especially at the end of terms. The due date and the number of words always bother me. Furthermore, I don't have confidence in my sense of choosing words and grammar.  I think my way of writing tends to be solid, so I would like to try writing like a story or casual way, suitable for the blog. I think this class is easier and more enjoyable than academic writing class, so I want to do the best to improve my writing skill!!

Why did I decide to take this class?

 I have two reasons that I decided to take this class.
 First reason is that I like professor Christianson's class because of last year's experience. My ASP class's teacher was professor Christianson, and I really enjoyed his class! I like his joke and the relaxed atmosphere of his class. Second reason is that I was interested in the title of the course, YOU : A Course of Personal Writing. I think it is very rare class that students don't have to use academic sourses! Also, it sounds adventurous to think about my past, my way of thinking, and my favorite things. It is first time for me to create blog, but I want to enjoy make blogging!
